Bandhan Bank appoints Shantanu Sengupta as head

Mumbai: Bandhan Bank today announced the appointment of Shantanu Sengupta as Head of Retail Banking India. He will be responsible for accelerating the growth of the retail franchise through broad and growing distribution while leveraging the Bank’s digital transformation program to deliver a true “phygital” experience to all customer segments. .

Shantanu has 27 years of experience in the Indian banking and financial services industry, having held various management and client facing positions in several international banks such as DBS, The Royal Bank of Scotland, ABN Amro Bank, Citibank and Bank of America in India.

As Managing Director and Head of Consumer Banking for DBS Bank India, he oversaw the successful launch and scale-up of “digibank by DBS” – India’s first paperless and signatureless digital bank and the first launch country of the DBS group. In addition, he was also instrumental in developing DBS Bank’s Consumer Banking business in India.

Shantanu did a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Calcutta. He will be based in Kolkata and will report to Chandra Shekhar Ghosh.
